Don't worry those are minimum pulse times, there is only a 16MHz crystal on the arduino you can get nowhere close to that.

Okay, well I would obviously have to make some changes to the library regarding the number of bits that can be stored in the drivers register.

I'll do some experimentation and make necessary changes this winter break and publish them if I get it to work and I have the time.
(remember when I was a total newb to this stuff, I never would have thought about trying to do this kind of editing back then. Oh how far i've come)

No, they're completely different beasts.

Well, not completely different but different enough that very little of the code from the TLC 5940 library would be useful.
