Here's an Xmas tree I made last week...

It's powered by a Tiny85, with a TLC5916 for the LEDs. There's a wire which forms the shape of the tree which is connected to +5V. The LED anodes are attached to that and the cathodes have a wire which goes down into the base (wire-wrapped by my girlfriend) and connected to the TLC5916. The 'star' at the top is connected to one of the Tiny85 pins via. a resistor (9 LEDs total...)
