I have just purchased a USB Host Shield 2.0 (Circuits@Home clone) and attach it to my UNO without any GPIO wiring.
Once I tried to run the board_qc test code in USB_Host_Shield_2.0 library, it shows something like this:

I have tried to plug my USB keyboard or mouse, neither of them works! =(
It just keep freezing at the statement "Waiting for device..."

Does my USB host shield have something wrong or any pins are badly soldered?

Did you "Connect GPIN0 to GPOUT7, GPIN1 to GPOUT6, and so on" as instructed?

although I'm not clear on what test actually failed.. as the GPIO test seems to 'pass' right after it?

I didn't connect those GPIO pins as I don't use them, my friend got the same board as me but he pass the test but mine didn't. So I am wondering why so that I can get the refund.
