Hi everyone!
I'd like to build a Bleep Drum.
I managed to find all the components on ebay, except for the MCP4901.
Is there any other chip which works the same and is available on ebay?
Thank you in advance.

An alternative is any arduino board. It can produce DAC by using the PWM channels (several). If you want smoother analog, add a rc circuit.
Good luck, Jack

What's the fascination with e-bay?

Bet you get a better deal buying all your parts from digikey
http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/MCP4901-E%2FP/MCP4901-E%2FP-ND/2332819

or mouser
http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Microchip-Technology/MCP4901-E-P/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMswix2y39yldX1d8KpQmwEZF2ZRjWOWGGg%3d

with better delivery times and more than likely overall lower cost.

@CrossRoads,
I am surprised. I have not bought from those two for several years. I thought they were more expensive, and shipping was more. I guess I should give them a try again.
Good luck, Jack

The big distributors are quite often better then e-bay.

Thank you again.

@jack wp
I understsand, but my goal is to use an Atmega328, not a whole Arduino.

@CrossRoads
I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I live in Italy.
Both Mauser and Digikey offer components at excellent prices, but the shipment fees are 20€ and 18€ respectively, even for just 1€ worth of components.

You should update your profile.

How about Farnell then?

So you have NO Italian sources at all then? That's too bad.

You could also try http://it.rs-online.com/web/, however I expect they will have either a minimum order value or a shipping charge.

I know. Luckily there's ebay!

@jack wp
My question is:

Is there any other chip which works the same [as the MCP4901] and is available on ebay?

@dc42
RS is one of the most convenient of all sellers, but I usually find ebay to be even more convenient.
