Bigger Bigger Smaller Smaller Reset Reset

I've recently moved to Victoria from Toronto and am finding it hard to locate hobby electronic stores in the greater Victoria area.  Any one have any suggestions?

Hey

I used to live there, now I'm in Vancouver, where therea re about six places. Check the Playground for details. Lees' in Vancouver is insanely cheap.

Locally there is Queale and Pacific Coast electronics. there's a sort of TV repair place that sells parts on Gorge road (?) across from the drywall dumping ramp. In that same Rock Bay area there is a good surplus place, sort of a recycling operation where you can buy electronic junk.

If you can wait a week or two, buying from Ebay stores you can get insanely low prices. A switch that would cost $3 at Queale can be vbought for .25 online throughh Ebay, or .80 cents form Digikey.

Overall your best bet is  Digikey. Digikey has a Canadian dollar catalogue and covers brokerage and shipping for $8 total. When I worked at UVic I used to order from Digikey at 4 in the afternoon and receive the courier shipment the next morning by 11.  Never a hassle.

Is that a good answer or what? smiley
