True, but no wiring, soldering, etc except the 4 conductor cord from the TW523 to the Arduino. And the TW523 even generates a 120hz signal that makes for a very accurate real time clock that can turn things on and off at preset times.

With X10 or hacking a remote control you won't have any issues with getting the insurance company to buy your parents a new house in the event of a project gone bad. ;)
