I am trying to create a program that will allow me to use a 3*4 keypad and a 16*2 LCD to create a timer program. I want to setup a timer that is MM:SS:mm. Example when my project boots it asks for launch time, then I type in the hour minutes and seconds. Then "*" button is the enter button. Once time has been entered it will load on my LCD looking like this;

Line 0
Launch In:

Line 1
HH:MM:SS:mm

I have been looking online and reading books and coding manuals online with no help. Help with the coding or a point in the correct direction would be a big help.

The last thing you did is where you should start looking.

Avoid the trap of looking for pre-written software though.
Recommend you start with some basics: Keypad then LCD then Timing.
Put them together to get what you want.
If you learn the fundamentals you'll be better off and become a better programmer.
