I received an genuine Arduino UNO R3 today from Newegg->CE Compass. I connected it to my laptop USB and 2 of the 'reddest' led's came on, and the unfamiliar 'connection failure' sound effect as well. I thought 'new defective'! After a bit I hopped into the device manager and saw this new 'unknown device'.Sure enough, I had to re-run the driver update dialog. It DID recognize this weird UNO R3, runs the examples, but it still HAS RED LEDS! Is this a new run?
Well, I guess I can't prove you are the 'genuine' Lefty either. However, the device came in a bulk pack, much like what I've come to think is the OEM method of shipping hard drives, memory chips et al. The back of the 'Genuine UNO' has 0119494v-0 in the upper right hand corner. This one does not. Everything else (component p/n's, silkscreening, made in Italy, matches. Certainly a price performer and a more authentic feel than the OSEPP clone.
