I am still learning to work with arduino
mostly a weekend hobby right now
Need to know if this is feasible before I start

I want to make a project that will read in can bus info
and then send the data to a pc or lcd for displaying the data.

In the end I would like to make a small program to show the data.
I have not had any vb.net projects that interface with serial but
Im sure that can be done.

That's all is required.  A PC program that read a serial port.

The way you have it in your schematic isn't the same as how you have it wired up!
