Hey,
im not sure why, but i have been using version 1.0.3 on my laptop for a while, but i had the need to also run it of my PC.
so i downloaded and put it in a directory. the IDE starts up fine and opens sketches but when i try to type in the sketch window all i get is windows error "dings" it coimpiles and uploads fine but i have to edit the file in notepad.
i have given the exe administrator priviladges but still the same.
i even tried the beta version (1.5.2) but the same issue.

Im using Windows 7 x64.

does anyone know how to resolve this iussue??

** also as a side note, the menus take a long time to open, but the do in the end.

In the IDE, go to File -> Preferences.

Make sure Use external editor is not selected.

Excellent, that did the trick, I'm not sure how it got marked, but i removed it and now it works  smiley
