*casts thread resurrection*
Question for you - not sure if it's my wiring/coding or if I got a bad module somewhere.
I've wired everything up according to this picture:

And I'm using the code from onesky in this thread to test. I've loaded two test files on my SD card in the root directory (not in a folder). 001.mp3 is encoded at 320kbps/44100hz, and 002.mp3 is encoded at 128kbps/22050hz.
Problem is, when I turn my circuit on and it begins to play 002.mp3, I hear the speakers whine and then start clicking rapidly (maybe 3-4 clicks/second) for about 3-5 seconds. When I try to play 001.mp3, it just clicks for about the duration of the sound effect.
It's like the unit is trying to play the right sound, but instead of hearing the sound effects, I'm just getting clicks/noise.
I did notice some sloppy soldering near the SD card slot today - pins 2, 27, and 23 look like they've got solder contacting the SD card slot. Not sure if that has anything to do with all this.

Is there another way you can think of to troubleshoot this? I presume it's not a code issue since I'm using the same equipment and code wasn't an issue for others... Not sure what to do about hardware at this point. I could go buy another WT5001M02-28P, but that means I'm out $20 on the one I just purchased...
Thanks in advance for your help.
