Topic: Can I use my Arduino Uno as a USB to i2c adaptor? (Read 894 times) previous topic - next topic

Good day all.

I am still very new to Arduino, but I just want to know if the following is possible.

I have a motor controller board, that I need to adjust the preset configuration.

The problem is that the motor controller board does not use standard USB or Serial interface, but uses the i2c bus.

I do not have a USB to i2c bus adaptor.

I just need the Arduino to pass the raw data from the from the USB to the i2c on the motor controller board.

So I was wondering if I could use my Arduino Uno as a USB to i2c bus adaptor.

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards.

I believe a Firmata sketch will do exactly what you want.

EternityForest: Thanks for your reply.

I will have a look at the details you have given.

I am wanting to make a basic version of this: Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter with my Arduino Uno.

Is the Firmata sketch suitable for that?

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards.
