Topic: ATtiny Reset cap (Read 627 times) previous topic - next topic

Just wanted to make sure of one thing before I order a PCB. When programming an ATtiny with an Arduino there is a 10uF cap across GND and RESET. Is it alright to leave that cap connected while the ATtiny is running its sketch assuming that everthing is still connected between the Arduino and ATtiny? If not what might happen? Thanks.

Are you referring to the capacitor used to disable auto-reset on the Arduino?

Ben1234

Yes. I have been using this guide http://hlt.media.mit.edu/?p=1695

The capacitor is not directly connected to the target (the ATtiny) and only comes into play when the Arduino auto-reset circuit is triggered so any effect it may have is negligable.
