I bought a 5v from sparkfun. I wired everything like the schematic here : http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/LiquidCrystal, and triple check it. It's still not showing any text even after messing around with the pot.
Does any have any problem like I do?


These are two different LCD just to make sure it's not the LCD that is broken.

The green wire is connected to D0 instead of to E.

Gnusci, I tried all of those links and both of my lcd still does not work. Maybe floresta is right about my E& D0 pin. I will check this tomorrow evening. Thanks guys

I'm not saying that this is your only problem but there is no 'maybe' involved here.
