Bar sport is the typical name of the scruffy bars in the centre of any italian city.

In this area we can post funny stuff or thing we think are interesting for others to read.

PS beltran you can now post that weird video you liked Smiley

One would think they'd have a more Italian sounding name...?

I've always thought it was a mistranslation of the American "Sports Bar" naming convention.

Here in the US, we typically call such scruffy bars "dive bars" or "hole in the walls" (though the latter can refer to just about any kind of establishment)...

:)

I will not respond to Arduino help PM's from random forum users; if you have such a question, start a new topic thread.

Funny thing that 'Arduino' is actually named after a bar in Italy!

Well how do you think the weird pin spacing thing came from. They claim it was just an error due to being rushed/deadline.

Pfff, they had just slammed down too many at lunch at the Arduino, and then tried and finish up the layout work that afternoon. So we can thank that Italian bar for the screwy pin spacing we will have to live with for the REST OF OUR LIVES.

Yeah the pin spacing is a bit weird. When I got it, I thought it was a defective piece, but then I checked the images on the web. :P

Are you talking about how the gap between the digital/analog out pins and the analog in/pwr pins is different?

Jeremy1998

They're talking about the space between digital pins 7 and 8. It is not the standard 0.1" pin pitch, so you can't just use proto board with the holes... You have to modify the perf. board to make a DIY arduino shield...

Valalvax

Oh, I'm not far enough along to know that :P

It was an *oops* that became a design feature.

... and as an American having lived 8 years in Europe...

I can say that the way things get named is kind of fun...   I think sometimes they use English words to be cute.   Near Pordenone, where I lived for a while,  there is Leaf Cafe, and just south of Ancona is Route 66 Pizza Pub.
