Topic: Unable to access Arduino Uno Wifi AP interface (Read 327 times) previous topic - next topic

Hello folks,

I'm currently having quite an issue with my Arduino Uno Wifi, as I'm unable to connect my computer to the  Arduino Wifi AP (as shown in this Arduino starting guide). I'm posting in this section and not in the Network one because I'm not really sure that it's related to a network issue.

More about the description of my problem, well, I'm following the steps of the tutorial, but I'm having quite a trouble when it comes to connect the PC Wifi to the Arduino spot.

After powering -up the board, wait about a minute.
Now, connect your PC/MAC Wi-Fi on Arduino UNO WiFi AP, ESSID like this: Arduino-Uno-WiFi-xxxxxx
Open your browser on your PC/MAC and connect at this link: http://192.168.240.1/
Firstly, I cannot connect the WiFi to the Arduino as I said, even if it is in the list of the available SSID. (It even shows itself as open.) And of course, I cannot access to the http://192.168.240.1/ page to configurate it neither.
I really feel like I missed a step, but I absolutely cannot find where, because with a Google research, I'm having a bunch of result for resolving Arduino WiFi shield issues, but quite nothing for the card with the integrated WiFi, even on the Arduino forum.

I'd like to know if this is a known issue and if there is a way to resolve or even bypass it, cause I've been working with some guys that had the same problem, without finding any solution.

Thanks for you time

from your description I don't understood where is the problem. first you should connect your computer to Arduino as AP. then you go in browser to http://192.168.240.1/ and in the Web panel you choose your home wifi. the you reconnect your computer to your home wifi. then you can go to the url with the ip address assigned to arduino by your home wifi. or try mdns names http://arduino or http://arduino.local

Yes, I know that it should work this way, but when I try to connect to the Arduino, Windows tells me that it were unable to connect to it, so this is why I cannot connect to the board I guess.
So I'm wondering if there is a step that I missed, but I cannot find anything to solve that problem.

unable to connect to WiFi SSID Arduino-Uno-WiFi-xxxxxx or after connecting to home wifi?

Aorhan

"unable to connect to WiFi SSID Arduino-Uno-WiFi-xxxxxx", that one message, when I try to access to Arduino spot on the SSID list. And yet, it is visible.

Juraj

It looks like a Windows problem. Can you try another computer?
Or reinstall the WiFi network driver.

Okay, so I try my another computer, and it seems it doesn't work anyway. A friend of mine told me it was working with Linux, but I'd like to avoid to install a Linux OS as I don't have any computer currently available for this.

Could it be because my Windows license is still unverified ? That would be pretty strange I think, but I don't know if someone else had same issues with the same situation.

I would like to avoid to try to connect to the board with a VM, as the system that we're working on should be totally usable for Windows... :/ Well that would be in the worst case if I have to try with a Linux.

I forgot to mention that I tried with my smartphone before trying with me 2nd computer. Nothing more, cannot connect and doesn't even display the error cause.
