anyone know if they are sold locally anywhere. RP just sells the basic stamp i think

you can get Arduino from robotshop.ca currently, or Sparkfun but it takes a lot longer.  
In about one month the production version of the Freeduino (Arduino-compatible clone) will be available- they're being assembled now. I've seen the first production prototype  and it looks great. It's basically identical to the Diecimila but with some engineering and feature improvements- an power switch, a spot for an analog ref pot, and vastly improved power filtering.


PS: Lee's Electronics is the cheap place in Vancouver to buy parts- Main and 24th avenue. RP is excellent, but renowned for their comparatively higher prices.
