Topic: Need help creating a, pee driven game for my toilet. (Read 1 time) previous topic - next topic

I just watched this great video on the MaKey MaKey, and found a video where someone used The MaKey MaKey and raspberry Pi to create a game for your toilet.

I have neither the MaKey MaKey or raspberry Pi, but I do have an Arduino.
Can be done with just the Arduino?
I have, very little programming knowledge and even less experience with creating pee driven systems.
But it looks highly entertaining, and I have motivation to try this.

I like the concept.  But you would have to be really close to the water to complete a circuit.  Men's urine stream from a stand up position is actually separate water drops when it hits the water.  So you would have to sit down and chances would be better but not 100%.

But, yes it would be possible with an Arduino.  There are crude schematics and info in the link from Youtube.

I have no experience with arduino what so ever.
So this could be a little tricky, surely you would just have a piece of code that states the circuit is considered complete until the pee completely stops for 3 seconds?

Most women would appreciate a game that inspire men to lift up the seat.
Can you derive a game for that ;) ?

You cannot win. Being civilised I always lift the seat before peeing but then they complain I never put the seat down.

You can: Give extra point for putting the seat down before starting a seated pee and for lifting before starting a standing pee  :D (or the inverse)

I always put the seat down afterwards.

Stayed at a mate's place for a while and his gf was most upset that I had put the toilet seat down, as she went in without turning the light on, late at night, half asleep, sat down, let stream and got wee all over the place. My fault, apparently, for not leaving the seat up.

I kid you not.

Maybe there is some confusion here that needs a 'toilet seat terminology' document  :D
To me what you describe as the seat I would call the lid. My wife also gets annoyed if I leave the lid down.

Good catch, yes I meant the lid.

After reading a Reader's Digest article many, many years ago, describing the spray of germs / bacteria being jettisoned into the surrounding air when flushing with the lid up, I made it a rule to put it down pre-flush.

Interesting, I've known people use cling-film to do the same thing.  ]:D

Great April fools prank that.

Put a metal plate on the wall you'd have to touch and a 'trode in the toilet. And hide an audio unit to make a real wicked zap sound 3 seconds in.  ]:D
