Topic: Using windows 8 speech recognition to send a command to com port (Read 2607 times) previous topic - next topic

I want to use windows 8 speech recognition software to send a command to com port where arduino will be connected... for example. if i say forward, it sends 'W' to com port. is that possible ? if yes, can anyone plz help me with the source code or the process becuz im a beginner and not used to very complex programming.... plz help

Using the COM port to talk to the Arduino isn't an especially complex thing to do. On the other hand, it looks like there's quite a bit of work to do learning to use the MS speech recognition engine. You might be better off starting with a forum with a focus on that. I rather suppose that the arduino piece will be a walk in the part once you have the speech piece mastered.

I wondering is there a way to do speech to text with Arduino??

With the EasyVR shield, some speech can be recognized.
