hey, im curious to know if anyone here knows of a good basic tutorial on igbt's. i had previously had 2 modules rated around 600 volts,300 amps, and managed to get them to fail short circuit... not fun. so now i have a new smaller one coming in and i want to know what precautions i have to take while driving inductive loads. i presume i need a protection diode across the igbt but is there anything special about the gate drive besides a higher voltage and fast rise time?

heh... well if i blow it up ill report my findings so hopefully nobody else blows theirs up the same way
