Topic: Where To Buy Wireless Radio Transmitters? (Read 1 time) previous topic - next topic

I'm looking for sources where I can buy pretty heavy duty equipment. I'm not getting something for a small model aircraft but neither for a space station. I don't know what is good in a transmitter and what I'm really looking for, but without a place to look them up, I cannot get a feel for it.

So just throwing out some "average" values,

I need a min. distance of 3km, and a data transfer rate of 40mbps.

Website links would be awesom! I'm just getting hobbyist websites or websites on how "radio" works.

I really appreciate it!

As an aside, what is the difference between a modem and a radio transmitter?

40 millibits per second is a pretty low rate, isn't it?

Bi-directional?

Sorry, midterms coming up.

40Mbps and yes, bi-directional.

digi.com has XBees that can transmit that far. But, 40 Mega bits (5 Mega bytes) per second just isn't possible on the Arduino. Not matter what radio you are using.
