Arduino + CC2500 2.4Ghz

Is it possible to interface a Arduino with a CC2500 like:

I would like to contol 4 Philips LivingColor lamps from my computer using the arduine and the CC2500 as the 2.4Ghz sender.

Regards, Joos.

Looking at this page:

is the sentence:

"In a typical system, the CC2500 will be used together with a microcontroller and a few additional passive components."

It does look like you will be able to send data from one arduino to another with this device.

Regards,

Mike

They both have a SPI connector. Can I just plug the CC2500 module in my arduino?

CC2500 is 3.3V device.. you may burn by plug on Arduino directly.
you need voltage translator on all in and out signal..

and also main 3.3v. regulator supply to module too..

Is there a other solution to supply the arduino with 2.4Ghz functionality. We have to communicate with a other device which has a CC2500 chip.

If you own "Arduino Pro" "Pro Mini" or other board which System Power is 3.3V. is safe for CC2500

if 5V. Arduino, you need to reduce logic level to 3.3V. .. may be resistor voltage divide. or Sparkfun item.

Solution is being developed and tested:

Interesting? Which module is that? Pricing? FCC certification?

I'm working on a project in which I intend to use pre-made ZigBee modules like that. I have some from Microchip, but always am interested in other options.

There are Vids on Youtube that show an Arduino with a CC2500 shield controlling a Philips LivingColors light. Fantastic! Now, does anyone know who is the hero that accomplished this? ...I would like to replicate this effect myself.

Help? Can anyone put me in touch?

Thanks!

I would be interested in some code (pde) as well :sunglasses:

Hi,

In my next post I will have a link with information about controlling a Living Collors lamp with the Arduino.

It is in Dutch, but I think that won't be a big problem....

Hi,

Here is the link:

Cheers.

Thanks for these tips and information. All looks interesting. I am still trying to find out the possibilities beyond the light control application.

Tip/hint. Do a Google Advanced Search on the phrase
CC2500 Arduino Shield Kit
...and then click the 'translate' option next to the results. (I presume most folks know that... but just in case)

Another easy solution

Hi where found CC2500 Radio Module ?
