Can't use Internet Explorer!
If I'm not logged in, everything works fine in IE. When I login, I can visit all webpages on Arduino.cc, except the forum. This is how it looks when I click the forum-link when being logged in (See attached image).
Much as I might question why
you - as a person of presumed technical competence - would be using Internet Explorer at all
, this blatant foul-up in the "forum" software is not unique to IE, and has on at least
two occasions in the last two weeks, rendered the forum completely
inoperable for periods of up to twelve hours or so.
The point is, it is triggered by various - and apparently random - events apparently relating to session cookies, such as but neither reliably or solely when I "sleep" my computer.
Notice the garbage "token" which has been appended to the URL to generate that blank window? Usually
, deleting that garbage will clear the fault but when the server encounters one of its psychotic "episodes", it generates these nuisance recursive redirects which Firefox detects and flags as unreachable.
It would seem that the forum is using seriously flaky software with this "token" redirect nonsense which should simply be removed
wholesale from the code but of course, what are they to do? Unless you have the expertise to repair it , the alternative of finding
and migrating to a more reliable alternative is clearly simply too daunting.
