Has anyone tried to use a cheap USB Bluetooth Adapter (like the one below) on an Arduino Uno board to transmit Serial output via USB / Bluetooth?

http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-USB-Micro-Adapter-Dongle/dp/B001EBE1LI/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1380995244&sr=8-7&keywords=bluetooth+adapter+for+laptop

Thoughts?

Arduino boards aren't USB hosts (except Arduino Due)

You need something like the HC-05 Bluetooth Serial module instead.
