Bigger Bigger Smaller Smaller Reset Reset

Hey there. I'm a newbie, so forgive my ignorance.
I bought an arduino Uno R3 and a motor shield r3.
I tried running a dc motor using one of the channel by activating the respective pins via arduino software and ext. power supply.
I want to use matlab to change speed, direction and create a gui to cnotrol it.
For adafruit motor shield libraries (although i use the arduino motor shield r3). The Motor script is detected but the commands are not followed.
I want to know if there is any library for arduino motor shield r3 or can i do sm changes to adafruit one to make this one work.

By what?

You need to have a stern talking to, with that Arduino.

Or post your code.

You need a library to turn a pin on or PWM a pin to control speed?

Possibly, but there are only two pins per motor, so, why?
