Topic: reading input with nothing connected (Read 368 times) previous topic - next topic

Hello,
I have nothing connected to the Arduino but when I read any analog pin inputs, I get varying values around 390.  Is there a reason for this?

Thanks,
Chuck

Hi

This is completely normal. It's caused by the high impedance of the input pins.. they are very sensitive.
The circuitry you attach, if properly designed, will stabilize the values and prevent these spurious readings.
