Topic: robotic drum? (Read 371 times) previous topic - next topic


hi, wondering if you folks can help me with this--

i'm trying to figure out a way i can use the arduino to trigger some kind of mechanism to hit a drum with a drum stick for an installation type thing that i'm working on. i can handle the programming part of it, but i don't know much about robotics or what kind of mechanism would be necessary to grip the drum stick and then strike the head. any ideas???

You can probably achieve this by using a solenoid.

Solenoids are electromagnets that can move an arm or a lever when a current is passing throug it.
