Here is a quick patch to get Arduino working smoothly on standard Linux installs.  Basically, it makes Arduino find the avr-* tools in the path if its not on Mac OS X or Windows. Its tested on a Mac and on a Debian machine.  Apply by running this in Arduino code in trunk/app:

Code: [Select]
patch -p0 < linux_support-2006-08-26.patch

Wonderful.  Thank you.  I'll apply this and it should be in Arduino 0005 (due RSN).

I have the Arduino 0005 alpha and I'm still getting path problems.  How do you apply this patch?  I'm a bit clueless.

I would try 0006, this patch is included.  So if that doesn't work for you, then there is another problem which should be fixed.
