I notice that the analog examples won't compile because they have a capital A with the pin number.

You must be using an old version of the IDE...

0021 is out now.

the analog pins can now be defined as A1-7

yep that would do it, I'm still using 019, I kinda thought it was strange that a noob like me would find a mistake.  ;D
