Can i use a 74F256 instate of a 74LCX256?

Well which one is it? You mention the 74LCX245 in the subject but then mention a non existent 74LCX256 in the post.

Lets assume the subject of the thread is correct since that is a valid part number. In which case the answer is no. They are 2 totally different parts.

The 74F256 is Dual Addressable Latch

The 74LCX245 is a Low Voltage Bidirectional Transceiver.

Sorry my mistake it is the 74F256 and 74LCX245
