My project is due like in 3hours

so far, working with other people that all have working arduinos
we've fixed laptop issues, com port errors and issues, bluetooth issue (found out someone stole the module, so that was a waste of time) max msp issues, administrative rights, firewall, and  a few others.. all fixed (...i've even casted a poly-carbonate custom case for the arduino based on a rapid 3d prototype)

But now i'm getting a wierd problem with the Ardunio Diecimila. every time i  make a connection; connect a probe or sensor, or just a simple switch the whole board turns OFF?  at first I though it was MAX MSP.  but after i unplug the usb, and just run on power adapter. it still shuts off when any circuit or switch is conected. I tried using a variable switch. and as soon as i get some voltage (anything above 0.98 volts) going in to like a analog or digital board, the whole board shuts off.

any help you guys can give me is greatly apprciated, thanks

heres a copy from what the monitor is saying: and it just keeps reapeating non-stop until i restart the program
