Bigger Bigger Smaller Smaller Reset Reset

HI!
I connected Arduino Duemilanove w/ATmega328 compatible board (Croduino Basic) to my PC. It works fine.

When I connected it, there is no "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray and I can't use possibility to properly remove the Arduino board. I disconnected "brutally"  smiley-red  the Arduino's board from the USB port and nothing happened. This time.

Is it commont to disconnect the board in this way?

My PC: Windows XP, SP3 32 bits.

Thank you for the answer.  smiley

Yes this is normal - the remove hardware is usually for storage devices to clear the cache to the storage medium
