I bought a BT arduino a while ago and now im trying to get it running but , despite being connected to two AAA batteries, it's not showing up on the available bluetooth devices on my computer. could it be broken?

2 good AAA batteries only output 3V. What does your Arduino require? Most are 3.3V or 5V. 3V is too low, especially if it is input to the voltage regulator.

Input voltages down to 1.2V are fine. I have mine powered with one battery only!
