One of the examples is in Java. I don't know Java, but the example looks straightforward. I think it would be easy to transcribe into Processing.

Start looking at simple serial handling. There are plenty of examples here on the forum and at the Playground.

I just get bored by reading loads of crap I imagine the writers of the tutorials would be pretty upset at hearing their efforts described as "cr@p". Lower your sights. Start with the basics and build on them. It's the only way to learn. Come to us with concrete problems and people will help you. Throw your toys out of the pram, and people will walk on by.
