hi,
just wondering if anynoe has written the code for getting a dual-axis accelerometer to work with the arduino in order to make it count footsteps? i'm trying to get it to work but am awful at code writing...

Hi

look on the tutorials page, this has been done for a Memsic 2125. Adding code to count footsteps would be easy.
There is also some info floating around about other accelerometers with Arduino... try using google to search the forum, as the search inegrated into the forum itself limits the number of entries returned.  

Design-wise though, have you thought of just using a piezo to sense the steps? would probably be more reliable.

As shown by sparkfun the Nike+ipod thing uses a peizo transducer - seems like a good idea
