I just use a ULN2803A.

Very simple to install and it Isolates the board a little , so you can have 8 relays upto 50v.

My standard I buy in bulk item of the day !!!!

What relay did you use in your set up?
I've looked on mouser for one with a 12 VDC coil and 125 VAC max 10 A but the amount of results is overwhelming.
