I am still quite the Arduino newbie. I have a project I'm working on in which I'm using an Arduino Uno and v5 sensor shield. I would like to connect my 16x2 LCD screen to it. I do not have the I2C controller for it though.

How can I connect the LCD to the sensor shield without the controller?  All I keep finding are directions with the controller.

The sensor board simply maps the standard UNO pins to convenient headers with power and ground. However you can still wire in a compatible LCD display as described in this tutorial.
