Does anyone know what the maximum baud rate for NewSoftSerial is?

I think the latest version transmits at up to 115.2k baud and receives at 38.4k or more. What speed do you need?

Thank you for your reply.  I'm going to use the BlueSMiRF Gold bluetooth module which has a default baud rate of 115.2k.  I would rather use software serial communication but I guess I will have to use the built in hardware serial communication.  I believe it can handle 115.2k baud.

Hi mem--

UCF_Bob,

NewSoftSerial 9 transmits reliably at 115.2K.  The RX is reliable at 57.6K on 16MHz Arduinos and 31.25K on 8MHz chips.  (These results were obtained in my lab.  Yours may vary, especially, apparently, on battery powered Arduinos.)
