Topic: send url to Arduino with Php (Read 248 times) previous topic - next topic

MancaveMick

Hello. This question may be better suited to a PHP forum but I'm going to start here. I followed this tutorial by Ray Wenderlich a few years ago and expanded on it with several relays to control lights in my mancave. It works amazingly well. I recently purchased another Arduino  and Ethernet shield and am trying to write a PHP script that sends a URL with the /$1 to the arduino on a different port so I can port forward it to the arduino's IP.
This is just one of the variations I've tried. I'm pointing the PHP URL to my public IP and port forwarding to the Arduino IP.  The PHP script Echos back success but the arduino does not seem to receive the request from the script. If I point the URL in a browser to the Arduino's IP, It works like a charm.  I just need to send the url from a PHP script that sits out on my GoDaddy space.

Does anyone have an Idea How I might get this going?

<?php
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_VERBOSE, true);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'http://xxx.xxxx.xx.xxx:1214/$1');
$store = curl_exec ($ch);
curl_close ($ch);
//echo("success!");
?>
