hey

it seems that the Forum search is limiting returned items by age.. I'm guessing 3 months or something like that. I looked for something a moment ago that was more than three months old and it didn't come up-- I can find the post, but it doesn;'t come up in search.

Try searching for "servo motors and encoders". This randomly selected post on servo motors should come up, but the search returns no results.

Yep.  The forum search sucks, and unfortunately, I can't figure out a way to force YaBB to search the whole thing (see for example, this post from the YaBB forum asking exactly that, with no answer: http://www.yabbforum.com/community/YaBB.pl?num=1174187423).  For now, I'd just use Google (e.g. from the search box on the main site).  Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.
