So i am using the TLC5941 which is basically the TLC5940.  I am using the library provided in the playground section of this site.  My problem is that i can't get any leds to light up.  i have probed all over my breadboard and from what I can tell, the 5941 is getting the commands and latching properly.  I believe this to be true because when i measure the Serial Out pin with a voltmeter, i get spikes at regular intervals, which implies the latch has been pulled.  I don't have a oscilloscope to confirm that.  I wired it up exactly as how it is in the playground schematic.  

Does anyone have any ideas about what I doing wrong.  I am only trying to run one of the example programs, which i assume is working.
