Topic: Add "Arduino" to dictionary (Read 1 time) previous topic - next topic

As characters are entered into message fields, a spell checker checks each completed word. It would be nice if the spell checker didn't complain that Arduino is misspelled on the Arduino forum.

Hi PaulS,

Do you use firefox? You're sure that it is the forum software checking the spelling? I thought that my browser (firefox) was doing the checking.  If you highlight a word and rightclick on it it gives some suggestions on that word. Also the possibility to add the word to the dictionary or to disable spell checking.

Yes, I do.

I also use it for other mail, and spell checking doesn't occur there. I'll see if I can add Arduino to my dictionary.

Well, OK, so I can. Never mind.

I am 100% certain that it's Firefox that does this. I am Dutch and all my english text is undercurled (yeah... hence the spelling errors ;-) ). Maar type ik dit in het Nederlands dan is er niets onder"streept" (But if I type this in Dutch then nothing is under"lined").

FrankM, If you right-click in a window you can enable/disable spelling check or change the language. You can even install different dictionaries from that menu.

@Jeroen: yes, I know, but I wanted to support your suggestion that the spell checker was Firefox' not the forum... I see now that the OP probably already knew it...
