If you have a subscription to a thread here on the forums and new replies to the thread are added by people, you get an email with a notification for the new posting.

The subject for that email always is ´topic reply´. I think that is a pretty general text and would love to see this change to something like:
Arduino forums - topic reply: <thread-subject>

One advantage is that it is much more easy to browse to your email and find the email and thread subject you are looking for.

Hmm that could be nice.  Maybe then Gmail will stop stacking multiple threads' topic replies into one conversation, making me not notice them ;D.

Along the same lines, PM's should have a link to the thread from where the PM was sent. I spend a bunch of time trying to track down what item is being discussed in PM's. A link to the thread would make it much easier.
