When editing the user profile for a migrated account, on submitting the profile an error will be thrown that the "this username already exists."

Same here and I don't want to change my nickname, even temporarily. Why is that option available anyway?

Profile editing works correctly now. One final issue: mousing over the email icon under my avatar, and on some email icons I've seen on other user profiles, shows the email address in the status bar even though I have the HIDE EMAIL option set to YES. I don't know if I can see my email address only because I'm logged in, and whether I can only see others' email addresses if they have chosen to unhide them.

So here's the ultimate test: can you see my email address by mousing over the email icon (if it's visible to you)? If not, then everything is fine.

Your email is hidden for me, I can see the letterbox icon only on my account, so its working fine.

I have not seen your email in any way. Icons, mouse over, memberslist etc.
