Topic: Iduino Shield vs Arduino Yun (Read 244 times) previous topic - next topic

Hello Guys,

this is my first Post in the Forum and I never went into C or electrics very far, so please bear with me if i'm a little 'clumsy' ;)

I'm planning to build a smart alarm clock and using an Arduino Yun to use the Linux OS.

Now my Question:

I saw that there are alternatives for the actual Arduino products, like Iduino or so. I'm wondering how the original Yun and those Shield alternatives compare functional and performance wise.

Thanks alot

They both perform in much the same way but one needs to be added to an existing Arduino board so takes up a little more space and uses some of the pins on the other arduino board.

The full blown YUN would be a little less power hungry and still leaves all the pins exposed.

Its more about personal preferences as much as anything.

It may not be the answer you were looking for but its the one I am giving based on either experience, educated guess, google or the fact that you gave nothing to go with in the first place so I used my wonky crystal ball.
