There is the Maker Fair in Newcastle on the 12/13 March this year. There are also some groups up in Newcastle as well.

Where would I find details? I've been meaning to get back up to Newcastle for yonks, this might be a decent excuse.

There are plenty of people hacking and messing with Arduino up here, but we're probably not organised to have met or set up a mailing list. I can point you in the right direction to a few people, but not events. Find me on twitter with this username.

I agree, there's a quite a few Arduino users at the regular Dorkbot session (Centre for Life, Newcastle) but we don't seem very well organised outside of that. If there's enough interest we can organise a regular Arduino (or any maker activity) get together / project session. Reply here if you're interested or PM me and we'll see if we can organise something . ps: You can sign up for Dorkbot @ Newcastle announcements here: http://music.columbia.edu/mailman/listinfo/dorkbotncl-announce

Surprisingly enough mowcius there are and i know some of them. Well the club has over 200 members Any one panning anything over the next couple of weeks? PM me or post here. It would be good to get an active community for Arduino etc going in the area. Hmm, apart from the Newcastle Maker Faire (12th-13th March), I don't know of any electronics/arduino related stuff that happens up there. I'd suggest you go along to the Maker Faire to find out about any people who may be close to you.
