Any one planning anything over the next couple of weeks? PM me or post here. It would be good to get an active community for Arduino etc going in the area. Come along to the next Newcastle Dorkbot, there's usually a few of us there.

Plenty of unicyclists in Stockton on Tees though, fancy a new hobby? Now you mension it, I have quite fancied taking up unicycling... (Is unicycling even a word?) Onions.

(Is unicycling even a word?) Yes If you're serious in taking it up then get in contact with JUST and/or go visit the UUU forum. You never know, maybe some day we'll meet up due to unicycling rather than Arduino

Hopefully I can find one for sale somewhere near... If you want something half decent then ask around on the forum. You should be able to get something second hand for the price of some cheap rubbish you might find in a shop

They look cheap quality and not even that good value for what they are.
Depends how much you want to spend though.

Well technically it's not a unicycle as it has 3 wheels (originally had two but that design was unstable when the front wheel extends)
It's an interesting idea though the uno - I can see some people buying it for a cool factor more than anything else. As has been said, it's going to be expensive until they sell to the masses and until they are made cheaper, they won't sell to the masses. I'm more interested in BPGs DVT shredder...
Back onto unicycles, the Segway self balancing unicycle looks more interesting. As a unicyclist, I would be interested to see if you can hop and do tricks on one like you can do on a BC wheel (basically a BMX wheel with two plates stuck on it to stand on - no seat).

No, the picture is a similar vehicle called the Uno. It is a transforming 3 wheeled motorbike which can self balance on the back wheel (two wheels now due to stability issues when extending the front wheel when there was only one wheel on the back). That Ryno one looks interesting too.
