The configuration of the XBee module depends on which module(s) you have (series 1 or series 2+), and what you want to do with them (just send serial data, serial data and digital pin data, serial data and analog pin data, serial data and digital and analog pin data).

Either series can collect and transmit digital pin data, but the series 1 and series 2 radios are not compatible with each other. For point to point (one XBee talking to one other XBee), get the series 1 radios. For a mesh network (any number of XBees talking to any number of XBees), get the series 2 radios. The series 1 radios are a snap to configure. The series 2 are a lot more difficult.

Hello and saddened for the delay
Thus Here we are, I use 2 modules serie2, 1 transmitter, 1 receiver.
For information, modules have a dialogue between them.
When I activate an entrance on the transmitter module (DOI 0 for example), the led of reception bustles on the receiver but not the release(taken out DOI 0).
Here are the snapshots of the configuration of modules XBEEs (transmitter and receiver) X-CTU software.

the Transmitter:

the receiver :

I hope that you go to be able to help me, and that my explanations are clear
Be indulgent (if there are syntax errors) because I use a translator.
Thank you

Series 2 radios are not the right kind to be using for point-to-point communications. They are meant for mesh networks.

I was never able to get to series 2 radios to talk to each other, so I can't help you.

I'm aware that others have, although I can't remember who. Hopefully, someone else will be able to help you.

Series 2 radios can works in trasparent mode, very easy and very simple!

You only need to set the address of one, in the other, and viceversa

The series 2 are a lot more difficult.
So I'm finding out... I bought a pair from a local electronics shop (both had the shields sold by LiquidWare.) and I'm not trying to use them on an Adafruit adapter and the other on a Parallax USB adapter.).. Neither is talking beyond itself on the USB, and nothing happens with the one on the Adafruit adapter. (initially thought I had a power problem (too much draw on the +5V.. Killed a 9V battery on a Parallax Homework Board, going through an added 7805 TO-220 regulator. So, tried powering it off a +5V 30-Amp (yes, 30-Amp! 400-Watt ATX power supply, converted) supply.. still refused to talk.
