Topic: I need help with my project (Read 677 times) previous topic - next topic

I'm doing a project and I need to display 6-7 lines on an LCD screen.  These lines need to be composed of custom text that I code in along with variables from voltage inputs.

My problem is I do not know what hardware I need to do this.

What do I use to program an LCD? An Arduino board?

How do i know if a certain LCD is even compatible with a specific Arduino board?

I'm really just trying to figure out the parts that I need for this project.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you can compact your info down to 4 lines of up to 20 characters per line, you can use 20X4 HD44780 compatible character display. Very easy as 1-2-3.

Otherwise, you could use a KS0108 compatible 128X64 dot matrix display, many wires (around 16-18) and yes you can get around 8 lines of texts.
