Hi there


I want to build door lock , using battery operated ESP 32 + Single 5v relay + 12v Solenoid (powered by 12v dc adapter)

this esp 32 have on board battery + oled

will this battery operated eps 32 good enough to power 5v relay ? or i have to connect external power ?

battery used - LG Chem INR 18650 HG2 3.7v 3000mah Li-ion Battery

Don't you imagine that that might depend on which relay you are talking about?

If you have a 12V DC adapter to power the solenoid, why can't it power the relay? It wouldn't be that difficult to devise a circuit to provide 5V from a 12V source. Most Arduinos have one.

I'll repeat my simple question. Why do you need to? You have 12V available, too. Use that, and a suitable regulated power supply circuit, to get 5V.
